Our History
40 Years at the Forefront
Cancer treatment was quite different in the 1980s. Patients had to travel miles from home to access quality care. A handful of oncology physicians based in Fort Myers believed in the power of providing comprehensive cancer care in community settings. They set out to establish smaller clinics where patients could access all they needed from skilled and caring professionals in a convenient location close to home. Gradually, with great forethought and continuous strategic investments, that footprint expanded across Florida. A pivotal decision to open a clinical research program set the stage for advancing science and new discoveries on a global scale to provide patients with the most personalized, advanced treatments available.

Our in-house next-generation molecular testing capabilities and precision oncology system, FCS PRECISE™, optimize the delivery and integration of molecular data and decision support capabilities more completely than ever before.
Advanced, New Therapies and Technology – Early and late-phase studies conducted with participation from our three Drug Development Units and clinics across our practice continue to reveal new discoveries in the use of targeted immunotherapies, radiopharmaceuticals, precision medicine and molecular-based treatments that effectively kill, block or inhibit the growth of cancer cells. The impact of our work is advancing the course of care for cancer patients on a global scale.

Our Footprint
FCS serves patients throughout Florida, on the Gulf Coast from Naples to Tallahassee, Central Florida and on the East Coast from Palm Beach County to Jacksonville.
Access to National Clinical Trials
Recognized by the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) with a national Clinical Trials Participation Award, FCS offers patients access to more clinical trials than any private oncology practice in Florida. Our patients have access to ground-breaking therapies, in a community setting, and may participate in national clinical research studies of drugs and treatment protocols. In the past five years, the majority of new cancer drugs approved for use in the U.S. were studied in clinical trials with FCS participation prior to approval. Through our partnership with Sarah Cannon, we are one of the largest clinical research organizations in the United States. Often, FCS leads the nation in initiating research studies and offering ground-breaking new therapies to patients.
